IT Management is the Process Management of IT.
Effective and efficient management of information technology has become a necessary function in nearly every business today. Our "IT Management" Area of Expertise is primarily concerned with the processes and the organisational structures of information systems, in order to properly support our clients in meeting the increasing demands of their core business processes.
Focus on processes and services rather than applications.
IT systems have gotten more powerful and more reliable; the departments have been optimised; the staff better trained – and still the rate of service failures at the companies is growing. On top of this, IT departments must fight harder than ever to prevent staff reductions – even though the workload is increasing and the number of projects are growing.
This can be attributed in large measure to the fact that while applications themselves have been optimised, there has been little coordination of the services and processes provided by IT as a whole. This means that "changes" occur with greater frequency without any integrated planning. Over time, these interface problems intensify between the separate organizational units. The underlying problem is that IT departments usually fail to perceive themselves as service providers and suppliers of comprehensive services. Understandably, each process is handled differently.
Consulting strengths.
We assist companies in aligning their organisations for an effective and efficient performance of all necessary IT processes, independent of whether it involves an internal IT department or an external IT service provider. Our approach is based on the standard ITIL Process Model. However, we have greatly expanded the perspective of the ITIL by developing our own ICT model and described a complete process reference model for an IT organisation. This serves as our basis and lets us focus our support on process modeling and optimisation.
Our "IT Management" Area of Expertise features the unique product "fIT for future", that helps us to deliver one-on-one coaching to prepare the client’s IT staff for future tasks within the company as process consultants. Supporting them is a team of expert consultants with many years of experience accumulated from numerous projects in the area of IT management. The specialists at the "Organisational Management" Area of Expertise support this training while relying on proven training and coaching methods as well as state of the art techniques derived from group and team workshops.
